Update: It doesn’t seem to work when I cut and paster from a layer into a project file, but when I go the other way it works. Thanks…

Just realized that I already saw this. Herein lies the problem. The article talks about merging the items which defeats the whole purpose. I can’t orbit around the multiple layers to see how they align to each other before I merge them. Adobe isn’t really quite being honest when it comes to #D. Yes, it can do 3D objects but in reality it only does them one at a time, which makes it really impossible to do anything that resembles a “scene”. Pretty much just as they basically aren’t really being quite honest by saying that After Effects does 3D. Yes, it can do composting of images in three dimensions, but can’t even import 3D material into it.

Don’t get me wrong. I love both of these programs and often refer to Photoshop as the best program ever written in terms of doing what it set out to do, but now it’s just aggravating because, it is so close to being able to create and manipulate in 3Din a way that is very cool indeed, but yet you can’t do more than one object at a time effectively. Unless of course there is something that I don’t know or am missing.

And of course I understand that things take time. A couple of years from now it will probably be amazing.

Thanks very much more the effort. I really appreciate it.

    End of rant 😀

I figured it out. Had things in the wrong place. Kind of surprised it worked at all. Found a tutorial online by Kramer. https://www.videocopilot.net/products/opticalflares/installation/

Yes. I think it’s installed properly and it is for CS6

I’m really grateful that this post has been ignored for the most part. Figured it out… complete stupidity on my part. Don’t want to mention what it was, because it’s too embarrassing. Maybe I’ve been working on this too long. Sorry for clogging up the forum…

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for the response. It would make sense exept for the fact that it’s an intermittent problem. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I am thinking I may have a corrupted file. Aggravating because I only need to do two more shots that total 11 seconds…

I thought that I had done something stupid on this, but it doesn’t seem to be the case. Sometimes I can see the clip in the footage viewer, sometimes not.
I’ve been able to create a new comp with the footage, but then when I drag that comp into my main comp, it disappears again. A new project might fix it, but I have too much built in the one I’m using to start from scratch. Very stange. It anyone has an idea, I would appreciate it. Thanks…

I seem to have gotten is to work. There was a bit or a moron aspect in there, on my part, but there is also something strange going on, because the same thing happened the other day. Could Lux cause any weird issues, because it seems to be working intermittently? Anyway, I’ve got it going for now, so don’t worry about it, if you come upon this post. Thanks….

Just an addendum to my prior post. I tried keying it and outputting it from FCP, but it does the same thing. It also shows up in the thumbnail of the project panel. Very strange. Let me know if you guys have some ideas. Thanks…
