There were two keyframes. One with rotation of 0x0.0. The next one had an easy-ease in at about 50×0.0. I tried the “hold keyframes” option, but that didn’t look right. (By the way, I’m very familiar with hold keyframes.) I was just trying to get the wheels to look like they were decelerating without reversing their spin.

Also, if you’re rendering, generally I get the best quality when I render my animations as a quicktime animation instead of an uncompressed avi.

Yes. I created the camera and a null and parented the camera to the null. Then I placed all of my elements to the right side and back of the camera and parented all of them to the camera. I then pushed the camera back on the z-axis over the 28 frames and rotated the null object on the y-axis over 8 frames. But since the layers were all parented to the camera, they just followed the camera and stayed to the side/back of it.

Hi,
I’ve tried this method, and I must be doing something wrong. I can’t seem to get any of my layers to show up on the screen. They follow the camera, as you said, but they follow it off the camera’s view. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you both for your suggestions. I’ll try both. Unfortunately, as I said, I’m editing to the music bed, and that’s really where it sounds like it calls for the move. The text is already off of the background, because I also have a shadow layer associated with the text. But I’ll give these suggestions a try. Thanks again!

It looks like I’m just going to have to figure out a way to stylize it, then. Neither field interpolation is working, and I don’t really have too much time to work with it. Thanks for your help, though.

I have looked through both the TV set and the computer. (In fact, I brought the footage in from a stand-alone player using the composite signal). It’s definitely on the source DVD. I tried using lower field first in AE…didn’t do a thing to fix it.

It was actually shot using a D9 camera. I imported into avid using composite cables and then exported it to After Effects using a Quicktime Reference file. (I don’t have Automatic Duck, and I can’t really afford it).
