Thank you both for your replies. I’ll definitely check out the tutorial.

Thanks for your help. I will try the solid suggestion. (I don’t have the money to buy a plug-in now, but I’ll keep it in mind for the future.) Thanks again!

  • This worked. I never thought of just creating a separate solid for the text. Thank you both very much for your help. I really appreciate it!

  • Hi,

Sorry I didn’t make my intent completely clear. That wasn’t exactly what I wanted to do. My design is a basic PSA where I’m acting like there’s a huge table and pieces of notepaper on the table. I’m having the text write on to the paper. What I want to have happen is have the camera move to another “piece of paper” on the table and have a different CG write on. However, I obviously want the text to stay with the piece of paper after it’s written onto it. I’ve been trying to do the write-on move using masks and either stroke or write-on. I create the text, put it in a precomp and create the masks over the precomp (I tried putting the masks over the text before the precomp, but that wouldnt’ work at all.) Then I apply the effect. When it does work, the text stays in the same place on the screen, and i don’t want to have to try and follow it with the text precomp’s position perameter. However, it often doesn’t work as the mask will be over the letters, but the stroke will be diagonal and above the text itself. I hope I’ve made it a little clearer.

Essentially, I want the camera movement to affect the stroked text. Thanks in advance for your help!
