There is a Scrub Filter in Motion 2. It sounds like AE’s time remap. Is it? I haven’t used it.

  • If you use the Glow Style in the Text parameters, it ignores the bounding box. I’ve noticed that the Motion Blur Image Unit is limited by the bounding box, but the Direction Blur Filter is not.

It’s a bug that was in version 1 that is still in version 2. Hopefully they will fix this with an update.

    Thanks.

    Thanks for the info, Jim.

How does Motion do that with AE? Does Apple use QuickTime to translate or something? AE 6.5 came out before Motion, so it’s weird that Apple’s filters and particles can just show up in AE.

    Thanks, Jim.

Yeah, I have the waveform visible. When I switch to the Audio Editor, my playback head defaults to 0:00 in the timeline. It’s difficult to coordinate the key frames in the Timeline with key frames I create in the Audio Editor because the playback heads aren’t synced between the two.

Yeah, I know. However, want to raise and lower the volume of the music at certain points of my animation.

This isn’t a huge deal. I just muted the music. I’m animating to the VO, as usual. Thanks, though.

I actually have done an entire 3-minute production with Motion 1 and I had no problems with the audio. What I may do now is use Soundtrack Pro to do the music after animating to the VO. I have to learn it first! 🙂

I haven’t rendered any projects in 16 bit. I did some basic trials with existing projects and with particle emitters.

The first thing I did when I got Motion 2 was I put a fog particle on the stage and played it. I then switched the project to 16 bit and the fog looked noticeably better, and it played at the same rate, real time, more or less. When I switched it to 32 bit float, the fog dropped down to seconds per frame.

My system is a dual 2.5 Ghz G5
    OS X 10.4.1
    nVidia 6800 Ultra 256 meg
    4.5 gigs RAM

  • I changed the second Motion Blur Image Unit to a Direction Blur Filter and it solved my problem.

I did not know that. Wonderful!

    Thanks
