unfortunately yes, i have tried this, although it works, the texturing is lost and it turns into one material.

Thanks for your reply! Im having a go now with the Boris FX, doesnt look like it supports the 3D camera however, but I think I can do it none the less

excellent, I have tried doing multipasses in things like After effects, and doing wipe ons that way with certain filters, the only trouble is when people come to change projects, it means a lot of extra work.

Plus, it can be difficault with things like reflections etc.

Brilliant suggestions otherwise though, thanks so far!
