Interesting, as I literally just did what you described without any issue. Tried multiple times and it simply did what I wanted. Of course I was zoomed in and had the clip height pretty big.

go to the drop down menu for the cursor tools (just to the right of the edit choice icons) and re-select the top cursor option (select or the A key).

Is the audio behind it a connected clip to the piece you are deleting? if so, move that clip so it’s not attached to the clip you are deleting.

One would hope that a community of skilled editors could find their way around a forum listing. Agreed? Since it would no lonbger be a “debate” based on an Apple product, why keep the name? Makes not much sense.

Sounds like a plan.

I would not put Apple in the front of FCPX and list them alphabetically so no preference is taken. Of course, that would make Premiere last which will probably stir up the pot from the “git-go”!

Agreed. I would start with trashing the render files and deleting prefs on start-up and see what happens.
