The name game
OK, my least favorite subject, but I’m gonna take a swing.
Bill and others are correct that the forum name is no longer strictly appropriate, but rather an artifact of history.
But history is nothing to sneer at, and I’m guessing Tim and other Cow folk are reluctant to change the forum name and risk losing traffic as people might no longer be able to find this fairly busy forum.
As a compromise I would suggest –
“Apple FCPX, Avid, Premiere – The Debates”
Admittedly it does not come trippingly off the tongue.
However this name would show up exactly where it always has in the forum list, it would be immediately recognizable yet would officially broaden the scope of the conversation.
There you go, my contribution to civil discourse for today.

Sounds like a plan.
I would not put Apple in the front of FCPX and list them alphabetically so no preference is taken. Of course, that would make Premiere last which will probably stir up the pot from the “git-go”!

“The reason that Apple should come first is to keep the listing in the same place in the Forum Index – remember the idea is no lost traffic. Alphabetical correctness comes in a distant second.
