perfect…thats what I have is the AJA IO. So I can still come from my dbeta but put the capture prefs on DV NTSC and save a bunch of space, correct?

    Hey Tom –

I just did this. The article is very good, but be sure to check each edit. I found that cuts slipped every now and again. Be sure to carefull check if you have freeze frames or motion effects

Avid is a lot better at this workflow. Good Luck.

Reinforces the “never, never buy a version one of any software” theme. Let the ‘bleeding edgers’ forge ahead and then get v.1.x or v2!

    (said with humor of course!)

I am probably going to upgrade to 5.0. What are the gotcha’s for active projects in 4.5 when you upgrade to 5.0? I am assuming the projects come across, but with some red flags, as in graphics and still image quality settings…again, thanks.

    Thanks, Oliver –

I have been told that while the parameters are not applied on the effect, the metadata (easily read by XML) details the effect parameters. True?

    Hi Juliett –

I just did the same thing and got these replies. Note the “hard lesson learned” post from me. That is a good one to remember when transferring stuff!

    rookie FCP mistake –

don’t transfer over Capture scratch folder, but the needed elements in that folder…overwrote a shload of material by ‘replacing’ the capture scratch folder on my system (thats the sound of my head banging against the wall!). Rushing along and not thinking. Yikes.

Lesson learned…never again…damn I thought I had been in this business for 25 years!

OK, most of the media came over well. Question: since my client brought me about 8 versions to play with, is there a way to render every effect in a project or is this basically a sequence by sequence deal? thanks.
