    If you desire to run a dual monitor setup, an ADC to DVI adaptor if fairly inexpensive and simple. ADC contains all of the signals that are present on a DVI connection, so the adaptor is no more complicated than a gender changer. I just bought one for my Radeon 9800.

    I thought I had read about this before…

    Perhaps they have fixed the drivers by now.

    I’ve attempted a couple of times to learn ‘C’. I only got as far as some basic programs. Coming from an Atari background, I can only say… What do you mean I have to ‘Declare Variables’?!?!?!? 🙂 If I say N=318, then it does… no questions asked.

    a couple of years ago, I was at work and decided to download an Atari emulator. I started writing some basic, BASIC programs. My coworkers didn’t seem to care, but I was reliving the past, in a most enjoyable way. I once wrote a character generator, where I could type on the screen in a large font, and save the pages to disk. Years later I looked at the code and was dumbfounded. I don’t know how to do that stuff anymore.

    Y == Y/CVBS
    R-Y == PR
    B-Y == PB

    Y is luminance. When the Kona output is changed to composite, Y is switched to CVBS.
    R-Y is “Red minus Y” which is basicly the same as “Plus Red” or PR.
    B-Y is “Blue minus Y or Plus Blue.

    The only idea I have at the moment…
    Boot the host system with only the Kona display attached?

    Yeah, Virtual VTR was the OS9 thing I was thinking of. It’s cool that they have a OS X version. I just downloaded the tryout version.

    It would seem that someone needs to make a plug-in that will control the FCP Timeline via RS-422. My background is writing Atari Basic code. I don’t think the world is quite ready to witness my developer prowess. 🙂

    Thanks for jogging my memory. I changed my Google search from “RS-422 Sony Control” to “VTR Emulation”

    How about this… http://www.virtualvtr.com

    Yeah, I knew Avid had that. Our Accom Affinity has the feature as well, but it won’t work for us. I can have a BVW-75 control the Affinity, but our Florical automation software won’t talk to it. Accom won’t even look into the problem… sigh. Anyway, my goal is to be able to dub material into our playout system directly and avoid our two tape formats. (We have BetaSP and DVC Pro currently hooked up via composite.) Ahh, the joys of a hybrid Analog TV station.
