I had difficulty printing to tape from my LaCie 200 connected to the 800 port while the deck wass connected to the 400 port.

If they are on the same bus then I think a bottleneck is created.

I moved all the media on to a Medea Raid with Atto UL3D which was partially succesful. All my AIFF files were stored on the internal boot drive as FCP didn’t seem to like that. It wasn’t until I moved the AIFF files to the Medea that everything finally worked. Not too happy about that because after 8 years on Media 100 I’m in the habit of re-initializing my drives after each project. Hmmm.

So does anyone know if firewire 800 and 400 are separate buses?

Also, anyone have trouble using music from the boot drive while the video is stored externally? I thought that this would make it easier on the system as is the case with Media 100 and Avid.
