yes when i open in quicktime it does say HDV as the codec. Its really strange actually. Thats what i thought about the SP mode, i understood it as a lower bitrate. What i am actually doing is flipping the codec once i import it to xdcam hd 1080i 60 codec, just so all of the footage matches for the timeline. i jsut did a quick test with our pdw-f70 decks and recorded one clip in SP mode and one clip in HQ mode and the same thing happens when i open xdcam transfer software. I have never run into this bug but its very strange.

    michael,

No the audio from the DVCAM will not be used for the final mix. Is my project setup correct? And yes i received an ale from the telecine house and batch captured from te DVCAM with the current settings i have with no problems.

And yet more great advice! Sometimes i wonder why people even post things on this forum. A simple no its not compatible with leopard would have sufficed, but i do love the smart ass condescending remarks just the same!

Ive gotten better results with bitvice mpeg encoder. Great easy to use program. Export a QT reference out of FCP and bring it right into bitvice. Fairly cheap program for the results it gives. Its made by a company called innobits
