Hi Aaron,
what i started doing was just dragging the folder out of the capture scratch bin then renamed and organized it how i wanted. This worked alright but then i tried out magic bullet grinder and it did exactly what i wanted, even conforms all my 60p clips to 24p if i want. This is now my main tool, awesome so far! thanks for you input though it was much appreciated!

very true.
well i think i have a good idea what the options are so now to go and test them out, see them and try them in real life. Might help. Thanks everyone for the information, it was all very useful!

yeah, thats not gonna work for me then, i literally have to be hauling this up mountains with me. i think ill go with the manfrotto head just because of size and price, and like i said it will be more than enough for what i need. Now for the sticks, im wondering if i should go for something a tiny bit beefier for if i ever buy a glidetrack or something of that sort.
like this https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/496825-REG/Manfrotto_by_Bogen_Imaging_503HDV_351MVB2K_503HDV_351MVB2K_Aluminum_Video_Tripod.html#specificationsalthough looking at it now the tripod i posted earlier and this one have about the same weight rating, might be a typo though.

hmm, id probably go with aluminium legs because durability and price are definitely a factor. is the FSB-6 head about the same size as the 503 head? that is as big as id want to go because size is about the biggest factor. As for price id be able to spend around a grand or more. for now though i dont need the perfect tripod for the ex1, anything will seem like a dream compared to what ive been using. Im thinking my best bet is just to go to a store and try some out, see what i like and actually be able to compare weight and size.

December 15, 2009 at 12:13 am in reply to: ex1r footage overexposed when put into fcpno but that brings me too one more thing i found with the footage, i was shooting full manual but in some of the footage also it looks like its adjusting the exposure automatically. theres probably a setting im missing or something.

the camera performs flawlessly in low temps, was filming in -25 yesterday and it didnt miss a beat. you just have to use the EVF in really low temperatures.

When shooting sports in slow motion, rule of thumb is to always have you shutter speed double your frame rate. So for 720p 60fps would want you shutter speed to be around 120-125. Ive only had my EX1R for a couple days now but have already gathered a few hours of snowboard footage for my film, using that rule has created the smoothest/cleanest footage for me.
