Any particular converter you recommend.? I’m not actually editing anything in FCPX…I just need to see the footage for time code info for my colorist.

After checking the properties of the clips involved it looks like it probably has something to do with the Field Dominance. My Sequence Setting is “None”. The clips that exhibit the strange zoom-in have “Upper (odd)” listed as Field Dominance. Is there a way to recify this?

Trashing the Preferences didn’t work…damn.

Saied, love the camera…perfect for what I was shooting which is a documentary whilst I was hiking on the Appalachian Trail this past year. Used a somewhat cheaper Vixia the year before for another AT film I shot…worked great, but I wanted to give the 1080P route a shot…loving the results so far.

Problem solved guys, thanks for the quick responses.

It dealt with a setting on the camera that specified the internal drive was the target.

In my scouring around the Web the consensus seems to be that Sending directly out of FCP into Compressor garnered better results than the QT > Compressor route since there’s some extra compression going on in the former. And like I mentioned before, overall, it does looks awesome except for those 10 friggin’ seconds! Anyone else have thoughts on the “Send directly out of FCP into Compressor” vs. “Export self-contained QT and then into Compressor” issue? Would love to hear opinions.

I marked In and Out Points, then…

File >

Share >

Set it to “Blu-Ray” >

Set Output Device to the external burner >

Picked a disc template (black) > Set “When Disc Loads” choice to “Show Menu” > left Chapter Markers unchecked > left “Loop” unchecked > I added a Background photo > I then hit “Export”.

It took about 9 min. for the whole process to occur. The disc then automatically ejected out of the OWC Mercury Pro. I popped it in the Blu-Ray player and the menu looked sweet. But when hitting play on the machine and the remote I got a “Not Available” message.

Again, it looks as though the data is burned on there because I compared it to a blank and I could see a difference.

fwiw…I double-checked and, indeed, this burner doesn’t need any additional software for it to work.
