I wouldn’t do much more than just that (lining up with Plural Eyes) before switching over to MVP 14. I have had mixed results in opening SVP 13 files in MVP 14. Some open fine, others do not. Even when there are no FX or anything but footage in the SVP 13 file.

    Good luck!!

Couple items to maybe check, I have had audio issues at times too.

    1) Make sure Microsoft Sound Mapper is your audio device (NONE of my pro-level sound devices (Presonus, Behringer, Digidesign, Zoom or other have EVER worked in Vegas).
    2) If you have sound FX on the events or tracks, make sure they are stereo. If I use a mono FX it gives me problems.
    3) If you have something other than a .wav file or unmatching bit rates or sample rate try to match them. I sometimes have had to render a sound clip out to a .wav file and it has fixed some audio glitches (I just highlight the section, and render out to 24bit 48k (or your project settings) and replace the original sound file in the project files).
    4) I do sometimes have to “reset” my audio device, just select something other than #1 above and the reselect Microsoft Sound Mapper and that resolves some issues.
    5) In reference to #3, sometimes lower quality MP3 or lower sample rates have given me issues.

    Hope something here may help!

  • Their chroma key is really good.
I am just SOOOO tired of all the crashes and lack of anything new and usable in Vegas. It’s getting to where getting some of the newer “looks” takes 10 steps for Vegas vs 5 with another editor, at least from what I am seeing. Like trying to use a couple Rampant Design overlays and such. It takes me two days just to re-encode for them to work with Vegas, and then on a fast system, it’s like working with a security system camera on trying to make them work (5-10fps). In other NLE you drop them in and done. SO many thinks like this are just showing Vegas’ “long in the tooth-ness.”
2012-13 video card support, slower MP4 rendering than SVP 13….yada, yada, yada.
Just need something that acts like an editor that is forward thinking, hence my asking.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Vegas and have for the 8 versions and over a decade I have been using it, it is just frustrating to see it not maturing anymore.

    I use encoders from here:
    https://hypedphoto.com/ezencoder.cfm

They did give a false positive on a couple antivirus softwares, but they are quite safe. I have used them a myriad of times and it has saved and helped me on numerous. Some of them are lossless as well.

    Hope this helps!

  • REALLY dislike the new GUI layout minus the colors. Looks like something from 1990, and hard to differentiate for those of us with “older” eyes.

  • What are your reasons, Steve? Why would you not choose DaVinci Resolve, and what would you choose?

Are there many outside FX companies that write their software for Edius?
    NewBlueFX, Boris, etc?

October 6, 2016 at 2:00 pm in reply to: Rampant Chamber Effects – Anyone use with luck?

I have tried to save with Quicktime pro, avidemux and looks likeI MAY have found one of the “converter” in EZ Encode to work. It is REALLY frustrating to me as there are like hundreds of files and I have spent nearly 8 hours trying to convert them or get them to the correct format.
They are just so cool and I really need them for some of my projects, but this is really a pain.

    Thanks for your input!

October 6, 2016 at 1:57 pm in reply to: Can Vegas render to webm format?

That would be really helpful. I have spent about 20 hours looking for something to concatenate these files, but they never work. Probably have tried 20-30 programs, all to no avail or they re-encode which defeats the purpose.
Would you require some GH4 footage to find specific format info? I could upload some to Dropbox and give you the link…

Thanks again so much, this has been really helpful and MUCH appreciated!!
