I have to use another program to import DVD’s every time I try it splits the video into sections (I assume chapters) and there is a slight audio glitch in between each. These are not commercial DVD’s and one that in some cases were burned in DVDA….any thoughts?

You may wish to check on Tom’s Hardware, there was something about Sandy Bridge issues and SATA, just read it last week I believe…may have something to do with it, but just an idea…Good luck!

I think you are underpowered. HD recommends at LEAST a 2ghz chip dual core and with AVCHD there is even more need. I would suggest upgrading if you are able, playback for preview will be iffy and 2 gig of ram and a 32bit system is also on the short end. Worst case, try it and see, but don’t get your hopes up IMHO….good luck!

I was only kidding, it is nice to see people getting stuff to work properly!!! I did the same thing, spent a whole day installing OS and programs, only to get to Vegas 64 bit to realize I install 32bit OS as well…lots of fun!!!

Make sure you have the newest drivers installed, have the newest version of Vegas (10c).
Also, it would depend on if you are using the same media and effects. If you have started editing something in vegas like AVCHD and such it takes a TON more CPU power than DV or something like that. If you have an old project that you are SURE ran fine in XP w/Vegas 9 try it! Also, you can run Vegas 9 and 10 on the same system so try that and see if you still have issues, and try an A/B comparison.

    Hey John,
Have you heard of issues if you have Premiere or Quicktime installed as well? I tried to render a .mov file and it would not render at all, showed it was trying to for 1 second and created a 720kb file. Also I rendered a .mp4 under Sony AVC and (320×240) and it had a thick green line under the whole video when played back in WMedia and a green bar on the side when played back in Quicktime. I was trying to render a small file to send over the net from a DV widescreen format.

If you are in Vegas, you can right click the audio file and select open in SF OR Open COPY in SF, I usually do the copy, because you leave the original alone and also, it just grabs the audio. If you installed Vegas after SF, you will need to set that as your audio editor under preferences.

I believe that is a two track stereo editor….Some programs like Sony Sound Forge 9&10 allows multi channel. I believe you can use the RX plugins as well in SF. If you have SF that may be a way to work on all 4 at the same time….good luck!
