Premiere Pro is not letting me import the MTS file off the memory card. Says “unsupported compression type”. When I copy the file to hard drive and import it, it has no problem. This wouldn’t be a big deal except for the problem mentioned above. Has Sony come out with a content manager for Mac yet? Why is Premiere Pro not letting me imprort off the memory card?

I am having a similar issue, I am using a Sony NX Cam and using Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 on a Mac. When manually put all the clips together in Premiere Pro there is a blip in the audio and video between each segment. I am using a Mac so I can’t use the CMU. Is there a way to fix this. Putting together spanned clips that without the blip in audio and video?

Thanks for there help. It seems like it could be a mixture of things, but does anyone know why it is only crashing when I attempt to save and at no other time? Is this a memory issue, external drive, or something else?

I am doing a “save as” for each week, but I don’t go back to the first week cause I am always adding video clips & sequences. I also don’t want to delete any of the sequences cause I am often going back to previous weeks and pulling out parts for repeated segments for the current week.

My most recent project file is about 190MB. It has about 20 30 min sequences and about 5,000 clips in assorted bins (most are about 5sec each). I am sure I can clean up some of the bins but the library video is extremely important.

Any ideas?

I Adobe Premiere, the easiest way to reduce the file size is to either, change the physical size ex: 720×480 to 320X240. Or/and you can change the FPS (frames per second). Again, if it is for the internet, 15 FPS should be fine.

The Sony does have a firewire connection, and it seems to be working for capturing, but now I need to export to tape using the Sony J-30SDI. When I try to export to tape using Adobe Premiere CS4 “export to tape” is grayed out. Would I need a capture card for this. It seems to capture the tape find, but can’t seem to get it to export to a tape. What am I doing wrong?
