How can I make MOV file smaller?
I have a 40min .mov file that is over 50GB. I need to make this smaller in size but don’t know how? I have Premiere Pro CS3 and AFX CS3 (and all the other CS3s)
Can someone please tell me how to compress this movie to make it smaller?

I Adobe Premiere, the easiest way to reduce the file size is to either, change the physical size ex: 720×480 to 320X240. Or/and you can change the FPS (frames per second). Again, if it is for the internet, 15 FPS should be fine.

Compressing video is typically done for a purpose, like local playback, web delivery, DVD, etc. Quality will get reduced some…what is your purpose?

I have a mini mac connected to a few in store tv screens to show promo videos. It is for that.

DV (Digital Video) will reduce your file to about 10GB;
File>Export>Movie>Settings
File type= Microsoft DV AVI
