Yes I did! Marianna. For some reason our serial number was wacky. She issued a new one and all went great.

Wait a second. Do you mean I can change the script once it is in Avid and within Avid?

  • If they are Op Atom MXF file: Look in your “Avid Media” folder and see what the largest numbered folder is in the “MXF” folder. Create a new folder in that directory with a number; one larger. Drop your files from the Hyperdeck into that folder. Once they are done copying over, launch Avid. It will scan the media folder and create a new database. Once that is done create a new bin in Avid. Go to the folder you created and copied over your Hyperdeck media to and drag the file labeled “msmMMOB into the Avid bin. Your bin should populate with your clips. Seems complicated but once you do it; it is very simple and fast.

Mike, did you get this figured out? I am in the same exact boat this week. Hours of XDCAM 50 to ingest. AMA and transcoding is taking forever. Today I am going to try and “fast import” and see what happens.

Little Snitch not installed and Firewall is off. We have 2 full MC6 licenses and one upgrade license. I input the full license system ID and serial and activation was successful. It the upgrade version I am having problems with. Could be I have the wrong codes.

I have an order form for the 3.5 to 4 upgrade and the physical box with serial number of the 4 to 5.5 upgrade. No where can I find anything with a system ID. Not sure if it was dongle activated prior or not. The “GetLicenseInfo” in Avid Utilities is not giving me system ID either.

I’m upgrading a clients Avid to MC 6 as theirs. Not mine; but on a different system.

  • Ok, I gotcha now. I also agree whole heartedly. I would like to see a compressed high quality QT format (ProRess???) as an option.

I while back I looked around for a way to “wrap” the Avid MXF files into QT and could not find any other way than what you mentioned earlier; by Avid export.

  • Andreas, I’m not sure what your complaint is. On the BM website for the Hyperdeck Studio it state, “HyperDeck Studio captures universally compatible uncompressed QuickTime or DNxHD MXF files that can be used with all popular software packages like Final Cut Pro, Media Composer 6, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Resolve and Apple Color”

If you are going to an NLE other than Avid, why would you not just use QT?
