Chris, The drive is a CalDigit AV drive and the MBP is USB 3. Blackmagic speed test give me around 130Mbs. Should be plenty fast.

To expand on my specs: it is a Quad Core 2.3Ghz and I have the additional Nvidia GeForce GFX card.

Seriously? A two camera multicam clip is pushing the limits of my system? Avid and FCP7 could handle this with ease (granted it would be transcoded and not camera media). Premiere seems to be much more powerful than either Avid or FCP 7 and should handle this easy. I must be doing something wrong. I imported the original/raw media. Is AVCHD difficult to work with? Should it be converted prior to import?

I am working at 1/4 resoulution.

    Thanks Michael,

Quick question: If footage has already been imported in (at the correct format/resolution) but into a project where the film option was not selected; can I create a new project with the film option selected and bring the bins into this film project?

Ken, It was such a PIA to get MC purchased and activated that I haven’t bothered with the Dolby License or Blue Titler. I agree that the Application Manager should take care of this.

Well, it finally worked. The whole experience was one of the worst online experiences I have had in a while. It felt like 1997. Compared to the Adobe subscription experience I would give Avid’s efforts as a solid F.

  • Please disregard this. I meant to post in the Avid forum.

What if I add the markers when the clips are in a sequence? It doesn’t seem to populate to the other clones of the clip.

The script window doesn’t even appear. I went back and re-did the script and the new one works fine.
