I’m transcoding because the media is shot 23.97. Our project is for broadcast so 59.94. I was having problems when consolidating 23.97 XF and then opening that media in a 59.94 project. Plus we have multiple formats, framerates in our project. I want it to be as uniform as possible.

Michael, I removed the .avs file but the problem is persisting. Other transcripts are opening fine. It says it is open, I just cant see it.

My advice: If you really want this, don’t go home to “lick your wounds”. I have found that the single greatest asset you have to getting work in NYC is your reputation and contacts. If you are making contacts now, then go home, you will return back at ground zero. Stick with it. I agree whole heatedly with the above recommendation to talk with people “to pick their brains.” If you want to talk with them specifically about a job for you; 9.9 out of 10 times they wont give you the time of day. I whole heatedly disagree with working for free. I think it is next to impossible to go from nothing to a paid position doing what you want. Seek out the less desirable jobs like night AE work.

Rachel, we are an all Avid facility with 9 workstations. We recently bought a Terrablock. So far we are really liking it. I would definitely recommend it. Support is great also.

The clip for the problem area is 15 mins. I have tried sub clipping it to no avail. I have 5 15+ min clips in this transcript that synch fine. I have tried media from the b cam. Did not work. Tried reformatting the script also.

I will try that Michael, but the longest line is no more than 6-8 words. I keep my margins wide to have the most synch points.

It might. I went back, as a test,and was able to both Fast Import and AMA/Consolidate 1080i/DNxHD/59.94 material fine from about 6 months ago.
