Its not a PPC/intel issue. Its a FCP version issue. The intel machine has to be running 5.1.2 (the universal binary version) Easiest thing is to upgrade your FCP version to 5.1.2. FCP is not forwards compatible. Older version do not open projects created in newer version. If for some reason you need to keep an older version of FCP I believe you can have multiple version installed on your system. Or read this article:

Bill, I’ve always put the show name, TRT (total run time), audio configuration (channel 1 stereo mix, channel 2 mix minus, etc) sometimes the production company, sometimes a contact name.

[debe] “Trying to create Avid-like workarounds really defeats the strengths of FCP and will make you think it’s an inferior tool, instead of a different tool with it’s own strengths.”

That is about the best repsose I’ve heard when Avid centric folk start complaing about non-Avid tools.

Usually on small single purchases I like to find a no payment for 12 months deal and then set up an auto pay account to pay it off in 12 month. That way I dont incur interest and can keep my biz cash flow more liquid.

I haven’t seen one in person. Currently I’m doing some work in an area that is 4-5 hours from anyplace that sells Apple products and my current laptop is on its last legs and have to make a purchase on online knowledge only. I’m thinking I can’t go wrong with the matte screen.

  • [Steven Gonzales] “And just to take it out there a bit, how about Kino-eye: The Writings of Dziga Vertov, or Film Technique by V.I. Pudovkin, Grammar of the Film Language by Daniel Arijon.”

I’d include the godfather of editing, Sergei Eisenstein’s writings. I’ve found books about literary structure are very helpfull. Also “The Art of the Documentary” has some really good stuff in it.
