I know you’re down on Avid etc etc (i’ve seen your post’s in the past)
But the newer vers have a lot of improvements. you should test drive the trial before you switch.

    just saying

On PC you don’t need to hit enter, just highlight all your clips/sequences, right click and choose export

  • I feel that it depends on the codec… h264 w/AMA isn’t up to snuff. I have had no problem with xdcam stuff though.

but the footage was on unity with a decent aproved HP 8600 avid MC

I always use fades on titles or L3rds. If i remember right, on the old avid meridians the fades would be
real time where the dissolves you would have to render. So the habit just kind of stuck.

An Avid rep a NAB this year told me that more is in the works with 3rd party devices.

and I’m sure Avid is working hard to get a new, hopefully 64bit ver
out sooner, rather than later. especially after all the wonderfull PR fcpX is getting.

June 23, 2011 at 12:31 am in reply to: MC 5 and XSAN 2 – will they blend?

We ran some test using MC 5 with a rorke san (as overflow, when our Unity is too full)

can share projects/media, but were able to connect, digitize, and cut using it. Only worked with a mac based MC, couldn’t pull it off with a PC based MC.

don’t know if that helps you any.
I say download the MC trial and try it out.

Did you try re-importing that QT back into Avid to check it?
