    Rene,
What your looking for is creativity… you’ll never find it in a text book or tutorial. Just sit down and play with what you have. It you see a “cool” effect or GFX on TV or where evere, try and backwards enginer it. Figure out a way to do it with the tools you have.

I believe the mojo’s are not supported with 5.5.
In fact I think all of their FireWire based I/Os are no longer supported.
    Though I could be mistaken.

    Just call avid and ask

Depends on what ver of Avid you have.

ver 5.5 you have the nitris dx, mojo dx or the AJA Io Express.

earlier ver you have the nitris dx, mojo dx, or you may be able to find a used sdi mojo or analog mojo (both are SD only)

    Hey Michael,

Quick question, I’m mainly a PC guy but was involved in a job recentley where we had to consoladate our sequences onto a mac formatted drive (the avid on the other end was a mac pro). Always ran into issues’s with the database files not being able to update themselves. (so i had to do a few work arounds to get what I needed done) I always assumed it was something in the drive formatting

anyway, can Vista 64 pro, read the “exfat” formatted mac drive?

    Hey Terence
will phrase find work with ver5 or is it v5.5 only?

we’re def not going up to 5.5 at work, really no need to.
but i would love to play with the trial.

    Thanks

If your cuts only(no effects), you’ll be fine.

But some effects will not transfer back down to ver 4, and may even prevent you from open the sequence in ver 4. So i wouldn’t suggest doing it.

May 14, 2011 at 12:39 am in reply to: Rendering issue

try stepping into the bottom layer (chroma key) and render that, than step out 1 and render that, then step totally out and render it.

might not help, but it’s worth a shot
