Your worth what you can get someone to pay you.
I know that’s not the answer your looking for, but it’s the truth.
Dosen’t matter what your skill set is. If you can get some to pay you $60/hour than thats what your worth. If you only manage to find
jobs for $15/hour than thats what your worth.If you want $50/hour than ask for $50/hour. If clients walkaway laughing than your not worth it or you have to find new clients

right or wrong doesn’t matter, Just do the gig and give them their cut.
BUT remember these are the kind of people you work for. It’s up to you if you want to work somewhere else or not.

Upgrade to media composer version 4 and you can mix pal and ntsc

when I’m in doubt of the aspect ratio, I like to change the record monitor from 4×3 to 16×9 (right click on the record monitor for the option) then just pick which on looks the best.

Just remember if you consider going the Avid route. It’s not like adobe stuff, it’s not designed to run on any and all PC’s. Avid is picky about motherboards, chipsets and GFX cards (nvidia cards only)
they have a list of all the qualified systems on their website (mostly high end HP workstations).Yes it will run on home built systems, but it’s at your own risk.
at home i’m running Media composer on a home built system and it solid as a rock, but i did a ton of research before i built it.

there may be a better way to do this, but off the top of my head I
would take angle 1 only cut it into a sequence, track my blur.
than do the same with angle 2. then i would do a video mixdown of each, then group the mixdowns and the audio (maybe even include the un blured clips in the group. just to keep the timecode with the group) and cut it that way.down side is your lossing your timecode so you can’t re-capture.

what kind of video card do you have? are you running the correct driver for your version of MC?
the setup your trying to run works fine for many users, so it must be something in your system.

these days Avid runs great on both platforms, so it’s really which you like to work on, mac or PC.
I prefer PC, just because the mac OS annoys me.by the way if you’ve been working on XP once you get to vista/windows 7 or a mac with whatever os they have these days..alley cat? snow kitten?… you’ll be amazed at how avid flys.
