pal/ntsc issues…please help!
Hi everyone,
I’m using the Avid Media Composer to edit a project. Half of the footage I have is on NTSC and the other is PAL ( Everything is DV) I know Avid does not mix PAL and NTSC footage on the same timeline. Question one – Does FInal Cut Pro? If it does, I might consider switching editing softwaresSecondly, if none of them allow me to use PAL and NTSC on the same timeline/project, I would need to convert the footage. Do you have suggestions about how I can convert the footage with the least possible quality loss.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Upgrade to media composer version 4 and you can mix pal and ntsc

As Scott said, upgrade to 4.0 for mixing. FCP does it also, but FCP does it wrong and Avid does it correctly.
