    Hi all,

I set up my Windows Desktop working dual-screen. Unfortunately, MC does not quite get the hang on it – I can not move the Timeline nor the Rec/Src Monitor windows… when working single screen, I can. One maybe tricky thing is that my main screen is 1920×1080 16:9 and the secondary one’s just 1280×1024 4:3 … could that add to or even be the problem?

    Any answers much appreciated,
    cheers

I’m pretty sure the resolution has to be the same on both screens…

I set the screens to the same rez; sorry for not mentioning that. They’re just capable of different resolutions. Anyways, the mentioned Windows seem to be sticky, while I can bin’s and project window around. But those also seem to be reset when I drag them beyond a certain point.

Another related question: Is there a software that makes it possible to “detach” the embedded Bin windows and drag them across the Windows desktop, independent of the Avid MC main window? That would solve my problem…

    Cheers

    Not on a PC..

So you are using an extermal monitor on a laptop. Have you gone into windows settings and identified which monitor is 1 and which is 2?

I’m using a desktop PC for MC only. I have a 23″ screen which is set up as my primary monitor and a 19″ screen which is secondary. Yes, I identified them correctly. It does not even matter if the resolutions are set the same or not. I’d like to expand the MC main window on the primary screen and drag the Bin windows onto the secondary screen.

    Cheers

what kind of video card do you have? are you running the correct driver for your version of MC?

the setup your trying to run works fine for many users, so it must be something in your system.
