You probably don’t have enough handle on your QT movie.

I don’t think it is possible. The only way it stays is if you only have a beginning keyframe and an end keyframe.
    What we do is
    1. an add edit of ,ie. 10 frames back from the tail of the clip if you are blurring out or ahead if you are at the head to blur in.
    2. Then we have that 10 frame blur out (0% on the first KF and 100% on the last KF) saved in a bin and just pop it on.

It saves you from rendering the whole 10 sec clip.
    Hope this helps

If your xl2 footage is 16:9 then you can use PIP just scale it back to 100. By default it shrinks the image down 50%.

    Problem 1
You don’t need to mark in when copy and pasting.
    1. Just park your timeline indicator where you want the clips to go.
    2. Alt + Drag (from the left) over the clips you want copied.
    3. Ctrl+ C, (Standard Copy cmd), then Ctrl + V(Standard Paste cmd.)
    It’s less than 5 steps.

    Problem 2
At work we just mixed down a clip of black for 30 secs and saved in our Fx Bin.
We load it ( Already has 4 sec duration In and Out set)
Ctrl + A then splice in.

    Problem 3 and 4
Read the manual about customizing your keyboard and what commands go where.
    Under Settings — keyboard

only certain aspects of the flare are being rotated. The EZ flares are a combination of certain single flares you see in the pull down, whether a stripe or a polyfan.

Do you have import sequential files checked? If so, uncheck and see if that works.

avid also comes with scanlines transition effect that can be a segment effect as well. Not in front of the avid now, but I think it
    is under techno fx.

Sometimes closing the bin your sequence is in and opening back up again works.
