I have my glow on titles, so I use the BCC glow alpha. Most of the time I do have mulitple effects on that title, but to answer your question it does not happen all of the time, maybe 7 out of 10 times.

I have noticed that Media tool thing as well. I wonder if it a Boris Continuum thing, because it only does when I have one of those plugins on, specifically the glows.
How about you? Or is it just the native effects?

I agree, but I don’t think you have to close Avid. When it happens at work, closing the sequence and reopening does the trick.

You will need lights for more reflections, or better yet, add a sky with an HDRI image, add a compositing tag and uncheck “seen by camera.” As far texturing, add your base material first, then add your chrome texture after. click on your chrome texture and in type R1 (must be CAPS)in the selection area. Duplicate your chrome tex and change the selection to R2. This will make just your edges(or ROUNDS)chrome on both sides. All of this is dependent that you have a fillet cap on your extrusion.

Try changing the color to a gray, and then add the “bevel alpha” effect and adjust to your liking.

There is a button at the botttom of the timeline that adjusts the quality. It should be solid green for full quality. Maybe toggle over and see. It doesn’t really explain the choppy playback though. Is your footage captured at 1:1? Usually you need SCSI drives to play that resolution.

Thanks for the responses. I will try, but I could have sworn that it was AE, then the EMP, then Avid. oh well.
