I only heard a 580 in person next to my 470 and its a hell of a difference.
From GTX to 470 its a little, from 70 to 80 it seems a lot.
Speed is around 10% more..max.
You will not feel that during work.

So given the fact I dont have Filmmaster and will probably never have, i think our goal should be to build up some group momentum and help Blackmagic to develop a cache system that works and makes us happy.
Since I made the swing from Scratch I found a lot of things that are better, but some like the cache handling or export management in general needs improvement to stand in the digital world.
Tape and film are last year…no, last decade actually.
I agree to all your points listed, I just wanted to add that if Resolve works in float internally I dont see why the cache format should not be the same, like EXR B44 or something.So, dear Resolvers, please chime in.What would be the key requirements for a useful, streamlined, trustworthy, flexible and reliable cache architecture ?

1. Add a second track
2. Do your thing on the footage in there.
3. Add an alpha output
4. Add an empty node in the end and connect it to the alpha.

Still, we are talking a 350 bucks investment here compared to 800 for the Q4000 with more than double the performance.
