Well, tell him to make a luma selection of just what he thinks midtones are.

On the source image or on a downstream node ?I think technically the Lift gamma gain controls do exactly as they should, but yes, one has to offset “midtones” to the footage.

well, its it what it is…a CUDA driven grading app.
The new version supports OpenCl for most of its functions but your card doesnt do that either.
Only the UI is working from standard graphic operations, that why you can see it.
Are you on Lion ? Open CL is not part of it either.
So you basically have a pretty fast card, almost as good as the GTX285, its just not working with Resolve.
And the hard part is, everything affordable will downgrade your overall performance as you are used to the ATI.A slice of color…

Nope, its an ASUS supercomputer mainboard with 7 PCIE 16 lanes and enough space for two 570s , one GT220 and the Decklink card.

I think its just silly.
I shelled out the money for the 3D extreme just to find out the HDMI is unusable for a proper judgement screen.
SDI is so last decade.
The facility I am in is all HDMi based for multiple reasons.
Being limited to YUV422 from the cards output is just…meeh.
I wonder if it could actually be changed with a firmware upgrade.

The Decklink cards HDMI is only YUV 422.
To get a proper signal you need to buy the HDlink and feed that with the Decklinks SDI out.
We had the same problem plus a NEC screen that can not run on YUV.
So we were forced to use a Gefen SDI2HDMI convertor which actually gets the job done very well.A slice of color…

Well, that sounds reasonable.
But please make it big enough to take a modded GTX 470 or better too.
The Q4000 is just not cutting it.

8.0.1 is what you should put to the test.
7 wont work on that card anyway…no OpenCLA slice of color…
