You can just split your offline with the scene detection or manually and add all the to a second layer and switch between those.
But I agree, I would like to see a manual, timeline or offset value driven interactive offline offset.
Same as you can do with the audio.
And of course it needs to PLAY with the online.A slice of color…

Probably a timecode issue.
Go to your online Conform, navigate to the first cut.
Remember that timecode.
Now go back to Browse ,select the offline and play to the exact same frame you just had in the Conform. right click the offline and choose change TC. Set the exact Time code and apply it.
Voila, synced offline , wherever its TC was.A slice of color…

What you really want is to ask your clients for source media or proper labeled encodes.
They will fall into place and show up next to each other in source mode.
On the other hand , a content aware search and group function would be clever , If iPhoto can do it, Resolvd could do too 🙂
That same algorithm could also be used to slip footage to match the offline and even do SRT .

Ok, to illustrate what I meant…
This is an image with a lot of light :
The midtones will pick the roof and windows which are actually the darkest parts.
and here we have a pretty dark one :
The midtones will pick the highlights.
My point was its kinda impossible to look at Gamma as midtones..it isnt.
it just affects the light level around 50% most and not so much the 0 or 100 % range.
But if an image only has 90 to 650 , like LOG normally comes in, the standard gamma is quite useless and you have to make a keyer for it.A slice of color…
