Davinci resolve lite problem
Hi, when i start the application, it seems to work well, but when i navigate to a videofile, no matter what format ( r3d raw, h264, prores or whatever), it crashes instantly. i’m running a powermac 2.26 GHz quadcore with 16 GB of memory and a ati radeon 4870.
however, after launching the program, it did say my gfx card isnt in the list of recommended cards. but it seems a little odd to me that only those cards will work.
im using apple color at the moment, but i would really like to learn davinci resolve since most people say its alot better with much more functions.
any help would be much appreciated

well, its it what it is…a CUDA driven grading app.
The new version supports OpenCl for most of its functions but your card doesnt do that either.
Only the UI is working from standard graphic operations, that why you can see it.
Are you on Lion ? Open CL is not part of it either.
So you basically have a pretty fast card, almost as good as the GTX285, its just not working with Resolve.
And the hard part is, everything affordable will downgrade your overall performance as you are used to the ATI.A slice of color…

hmm ok, that’s just a pity.. no plans from bmd to ”fix” this in the future? well thanks anyway.
