I couldn’t agree more 🙂

Maybe its time for a new Forum.
Its getting a little out of hand how many different configuration people have and most of the problems are related to if they are able to run it.

I would suggest we are have a Pro-User Forum where we can discuss actually project related topics when we already reached the limits of the software, not our capabilities or the ones of the hardware.
It might also help Blackmagic identifying real bugs or problems.

I totally agree on the need of JPG sequences as matte inputs.
Thats kinda mandatory for VFX work.
Also the selection of a channel to use as matte.
3D people love to render out a 3 color JPG sequence.
And I love 3D people 🙂

If you checked that you are on a 64bit kernel, 4.1.28 is good.

Well, the beauty of the big panels is that you always find what your fingers are looking for because it doesnt change layout.
On the other hand, a custom mapping you can carry with you makes your freelance life easy…I do that with Scratch and the Wave.
But First I would like to hear BMDs thoughts.
Is it in, or is it not ?

“After sending out the shipping notification on Friday we have received many enquiries asking whether Da Vinci Resolve will support the Element panels. Consequently we felt that it would be appropriate to explain the situation….

While we certainly hope that support for the Element panels will be incorporated into Resolve at some point we haven’t received any confirmation from Black Magic Design if or when this will happen. The RedUser forum is your source of information for all this.
They also have tons of files.
Before the Epic you could get almost realtime playback on an older Mac like your in half res.
With the new codec expect not more than 18 fps.
I normally work in quarter res for playback and half for grading..Full is only useful for render times.

I would not get the 480 but the 470 if its for internal use.
Get the 480 only for the Cubix.

Not a problem, I am running Scratch and Resolve side by side, flip back to FCP to export an EDL or such..
No heat problems, not power problems..
Either I am just lucky or bought a really good computer 🙂
