    Hi Michael,

Well there is reframing and animation of position of shots at several occasions. Not too many though.

    Isn’t there even another option:

Let’s say, I build a new HD timeline in FCP.
I re frame and re size all the SD shots according to my new HD timeline, meaning doing the scaling inside FCP.
Then exporting that TL as XML to DaVinci and importing it there with the option checked to read the re sizing info from FCP.
Now, shouldn’t DaVinci do the re sizing automatically on import?
If so,mother DaVinci’s better algorhythms would take care on proper scaling upon export.

That would be the least painful and time consuming option.

    Would that work?

    Hi Shane,

Thanx a lot for that in depth to-do-manual.
Some questions about the compressor step:
1.) If I drop them all into compressor at ones, will it not crush the App? It’s more then 1500 clips, and I had that App already crushing with dropping less clips at ones into it.

2.) When I drop compression pre set and output destination: same thing when dropping that on too many clips at ones at the same time, app often crashes. How is the best way to multi drop output settings and output destination to all clips at the same time in the easiest way?

3.) how you tell compressor while you do drop all that settings, not to alternate the file names in the output to ensure a smooth relinking later on?

    Thanx again for the help!

From all I heard, Compressor 4 does an awesome job. Is there a smooth way, to Batch change all my SD Clips to HD, without going to a tedious process of exporting each SD clip, taking it to Compressor Eporting it there as HD, and re-importing the outputted clip agin into FCP and relinking it to the HD timeline. for a 72min feature it would take ages like this.

    Hi Bob,

Come to Tel Aviv, and I will invite you for hell of a Humus!

I did download in the meanwhile Prosoft Data Rescue 4.
Since it’s 3TB it’s still scanning for another 12 hours.
My question: It appears, it can recover probably all, but only half, or less, with the intact folder structure and File names.
That is kind of a bummer since I face several thousands of Video, Audio and Still Files.
Do you know, weather it’s possible to get to those the real names after the recovery?

Or even better: The Software you suggested will bring back all Files with intact Folder Structure and File Names?

    Hi Michael,

thanx a lot for the fast reply.
Does that also copy keyframes then?
    E.g. in the Audio.

    Hi Sascha,

I tried you Short Cuts in Resolve 10…does not seem to work.
Is that to be right for PC and Mac? I work on Mac.
Did not find any other place about short cuts in the Scene Detection Mode.

    Thanx.

    Got it! Clear thanx.
I just hoped, there was a faster way than erasing the Speed Promotion option on each single clip on TL.
Something like select all clips in the BIN and right click and define as 25p kind of thing.

    Thanx.

July 29, 2015 at 8:40 am in reply to: Change Video Settings of Footage

    Hi Shane,

No, it was most certainly shot in 25p/1080
But when putting it on the Timeline it automatically ads a speed effect to promote to de-interlace.
When I erase that effect it still plays normal, not showing field issues, since there aren’t any.
My project is set up as 1080p/25fps.

Basically AVID really does interpret that footage wrong, and I just wonder, if there’s a way like in FCP to tell the NLE the right setting.
