For the edit i will probably transcode all the footage to SD prores hq or maybe 720.
I was concerned about delivery for the DI. The A1 i think is 1440 x 1080i HDV should i use the kona to convert it to 1920x 1080 pro res 422 when I online it?
    cheers

October 28, 2010 at 5:08 pm in reply to: master via firewire???

Because apparently they broadcast from the dv tape(in Nigeria). so it would have to go on to one anyway.
sounds weird that they broadcast from a mini dv tape but thats what we’ve been asked to deliver.

Thanks guys, that clears it up. What I really want is to be able to monitor and grade basically on an external LCD monitor such as panasonics TH-50PF10UK as well as run the heavy 3d software and be able to deal with some red footage. I know this is alot to ask but I figured that 8 core 2.26 Nehalem mac with the kona 3 and a ATI Radeon HD 4870 512MB.

    what do you wreckon

    cheers sam

    Thanks for the reply,
So I have to export from motion with the same codec as the FCP timeline then bring them back into Final Cut. Thats ok but I love the send to motion workflow. Would be awesome if it did work.
    Thanks Again Walt
    Love your tutorials
