Trashing preferences just fixed this issue for me.

I just stumbled across this same problem – it seems there are several odd bugs with how AE CS5.5 is playing with the WindowManager (I’m on 10.6). I’m assuming you haven’t figured out the solution yet. I’ll let you know if I find anything.

After a lot of dead ends, I finally reinstalled the OS on a new partition to start from a completely clean slate. Installed AE, launched just fine. Installed all the system updates, and AE started crashing the exact same way. So I’m curious if anyone out there is running AE 9.0.2 on OS X 10.6.3. I can’t get it to work without crashing every time it launches, but it works fine in 10.6.2.

I was looking through the kexts, and noticed that there was a GeForce8xxxDriver.bundle that got taken out of the 10.6.3 update, and a GeForceGLDriver.bundle was added. Not sure if that’s the problem, but since it launched in safe boot (in which OpenGL is disabled, I believe), I thought it might be.

Should this be something I tell Apple/Adobe?

Do you know why some linked properties won’t let you separate the dimensions? Specifically, I’m working with a text animator position property. The option to separate dimensions is grayed out. Also, there was another multi-spatial property that wasn’t letting me separate dimensions either, but I don’t remember what it was… I know this works with the basic transforms, but is there a way to do it with other properties as well?

    Thanks.
