    YES YES YES
I would love that feature as well!
DaVinci Resolve custom stills sort would be awesome!

I work with resolve near set and I name my Stills for the Scene and camera they go with…until they get approval and toss the ones that don’t make the grade.
    EG:
    SCN_004_A_001_warm
    or
    SCN_001_B_002.

But once you get a huge number of stills in there they are all sorted by the clips / card they come from. Then to find stills for SCN_001 I have to enter a specific search.

Would be way easier to have them sortable by various options or just alpha numeric.

That way to find scene 001 I could just scroll up to the top of the stills folder to find scene 001

By the time you are done the project you have stills from begining to end of the project.

****Also it would be great IF I could export them with the names I gave them rather than having to assign a batch name.

I am looking at doing this as well but getting mixed messages between the forum and ARRI.

I tried the cinemascope setting and it deqsueezed and looked good.

    However Arri folks tell me:
“You can use the desqueeze using the pixel aspect. But please keep in mind that the framing of the clips will not be correct. You also have to scale the image by a factor of 1.046 ( 1920 / 1836 ).

***{I can’t find those settings in DR Lite 9.1}**

The ARRI ALEXA captures a 4:3 2K ProRes file in the resolution 2048×1536. When using an 2x anamorphic lens the picture aspect is 1:2.67. The 2.39 image is centered having extra image data to the left and right with a total pixel width of 1836. When only desqueezing the image you will have an image which is to small and has extra picture information left and right with an picture aspect of 1:2.5 inside your HD image.”

Can anyone clarify this for me.
I am using DaVinci Resolve 9.1 LITE
It rendered fine just using the cinemascope setting and the scale image to fit. I did this using ARRI test footage (parade)but don’t have a rack leader to check it against to see if it is cropped on the ends.

I want to create prores 422 LT dailies
    Arri says:
    – Create a 1920×1080 project. Done
    – Create a “InputSizingPreset” with a width of 1.046 and height of 0.523. ( 1920 / 1836 = 1.046 /2 = 0.523 )
****CANT FIND THIS IN RESOLVE 9.1 LITE****

    – Apply your preset on all your anamorphic ProRes files. Easiest is to select the files on the Media page and right click and choose “Change Input Format Preset for Clip” and choose your previously saved preset.
    – Render away.
    – please also check in the Project settings, that Image Scaling is set to “Center Crop no resizing” for both options. ****get super streched image***

    Confused.
    Any insight would help

August 25, 2012 at 10:27 pm in reply to: Arri LUT included

Can’t seem to find the( AlexaV3_K1S1_LogC2Video_Rec709_EE_davinci3d.cube ) LUT within my options.

    I checked my lib/application suport/blackmagic/LUT

found this one as a LogC to Rec709:
    Arri Alexa LogC to Rec709.dat_3dlut

it loads fine in resolve lite.

Could someone point me to how to get this K1S1 LUT you are talking about?

    Many thanks in advance.

  • Yes but not for this specific task.
Thought someone might have had a need for this with field recorders and have a ap in mind right away.
