    Hey Bobby,

I usually render out separate passes for something like this.

You could do an object buffer on your coin to get the coin separated from the background.

Then in your mutlipass settings, add a shadow pass to put the shadows back into your scene. Set this to multiply.

This way, you will have your coin, and your shadows, as separate layers in after effects.

    Hey Tom,

In the snow shot, it looks like the pole isnt really being used for motion tracking, as much as its being used for timing to know when to pan the camera of the green screen shot.

Does that kind of help? Or are you wondering the specific kind of tracking like Match Moving or 3d camera tracking (syntheyes, boujou, etc?)

    Hey David,

We have been discussing graphics cards over here:

Maybe someone will have some answers over there.

    Hey Adam,

From the camera is no problem, and seemed to work just fine. I have a few projects on my internal hard drive, where I just dragged the mts files onto, without preserving the file structure that is created on the SDHC card once you start recording. Thing is, is that 1 project on my internal drive will import just fine into FCPx and I can start editing….but when I go over to another folder and try the same thing, I get this classic message:

(Whatever Folder Name) contains unsupported media or has an invalid directory structure. Please choose a folder whose directory structure matches supported media.

So it seems for the future taking it off the card is fine, but for now, why do some of the files from my hard drive work, and others wont even be recognized?

    Hey Andrew,

I actually have the 2×2.8 ghz Quad core Intel Zeon…..but I would assume the 5770 would still be good to go? Thoughts?

    Thanks.

Gotcha….but as of right now, there looks like no way to interpret a single clip without changing a timeline?
