Worked like a charm! Thanks so much. So basically what I just did was simplify the geometry and smooth out the angles? Can I ask what made you realize you needed to un-triangulate? I’m really trying to learn as much about 3D as possible, and it’s always these little technical details that seem to make all the difference.

Really appreciate you taking the time to help, thanks again 🙂

    Have at it!

  • So you’re running the test on basically 2 identical systems… why would you expect it to be faster? The speed is in the GHZ, not in the model of the chip. Also just a side note you should probably get more RAM. Mac Pro’s are capable of 64GB, there is absolutely no good reason you shouldn’t be taking advantage of that, esp if using for high-end graphics.

Your new mac pro should offer significant speed increases while working within Cinema too, due to the graphics card (depending on which one you opted for). I have a maxed-out cylinder at work, and that thing flies

Ugh I was REALLY hoping that would work but sadly, no. Good tip tho!

  • Adam I think that might indeed be the problem, going to adjust my scene scale, thanks!

Ah, this is because the “color” value is between 0 and 1, correct? I like that array syntax at the end too, nice and simple. Thanks!

I just meant in general not necessarily for rotation. no idea why I would even want to change the default unit… just wondering if it’s possible

Is there a way to change the default input data types or are they locked?

Right, that works thanks. Except I had to set to “Degrees To Radians” not the other way around. I guess it accepts a Radian but then outputs a degree to the user in the UI.

Nevermind, I figured it out! You have to use the scopes in the “Reference” window, not the “Source” window
