you can use ffmpeg (via AnotherGui) on pc to convert a quicktime to ProRes (I usually make a DNXHD clip first):

I’ve done it many times and the files have passed broadcaster muster.

Yes, I submitted! Thanks. I guess I can sort of see the reasoning but I still believe the ability to undo would be nice/necessary.
Found this good discussion on https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1319384?q=undo%20replace%20footage
Thanks,

from Premiere Help:
Note:
You cannot use the Edit > Undo command to undo a footage replacement. However, you can use the Clip > Replace Footage command again to relink a clip to its original source file.———-
Why??

addendum: I just reset Premiere settings and tried again and sure enough, I cannot undo replacing footage.
Thanks for looking.

You can add it manually:

Not Adobe certified but it will work.

Awesome. Thanks for the quick responses. I will use both options depending on my scenario (outdated output modules as well as the AME watch folder)
Thanks,

Thanks Todd. (RTFM, I know… sorry)
Is there a way for AME to invoke the GPU for raytraced AE projects? A project that takes 2 minutes to render out of AE was going to take over an HOUR using AME because it wasn’t using the GPU.

Great! Thanks for the quick response, Walter.
I just like to have the built in mp4 for quickly rendering files for approvals, etc.
I’m sure there was a reason to not include them – other than forcing us to use AME 😉 Sending to AME adds an extra step that seems unnecessary (for certain cases).
For now, I’m going to re-enable.
Thanks again

I had this problem and finally solved it by switching from ESET virus protection to a different product. ESET got in the way of pretty much all Adobe memory actions… there might be a setting in eset that fixes it but i sure couldn’t find it…
so… try disabling virus protection and see what happens? May need to uninstall virus software completely…

Rotobrush is my friend. You still need to keep your eye on it as you say, but keeping my eye on it is way more interesting and tolerable than pushing points. Think of it as if you are sculpting your matte…
As Dave said, you have to follow the RB protocol for sure.
My use may not equal your use so our experiences are likely different. (I cut out a lot of animation – not so much live action.)
Anyway, I’m a fan.
Also, if you can do it faster with a traditional mask – do that.
