  • What is the absolute BEST graphic card for rendering 4K material down to HD 1080p files or 480p (DVD) files? I have an AMD Ryzen processor and an AMD RX 580 GPU….but sometimes during rendering in Vegas Pro 13 it does fine and then inexplicably stops and says 0 frames rendered, black screen. Nada. Don’t know what is causing this. Is there a better card that I should use? Or should I upgrade to VP14 or 15, do they handle 4K any better?

I’m hearing about the AMD Vega as well, would this be a good purchase? https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Radeon-RX-Vega-64/dp/B074V9ZK42/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1506383462&sr=1-1&keywords=amd+vega

    Thanks for your help.

I’m having the same issue. Have either of you experienced any kind of resolution or workaround yet?

So which one specifically is “best” in your list – reading from top to bottom or from bottom to top? Is it the AMD 5770 or the R9 FuryX? I currently have the AMD Radeon RX 580X Sapphire Nitro version, 8GB memory. Is that a good one or where does it rank on your list? I’m really trying to determine the very best AMD card to use with SVP 13 as of August 23rd, 2017.

Thanks so much for your help and reply!

OK I re-rendered them as MP4’s. That still didn’t do the trick. Even when I told Vegas to leave them alone, Vegas DOES open. But after about 2 minutes of being open, even if I just leave it there, I get the following Problem Report and Vegas crashes:

    This is a wedding… project. it’s horrible…I simply can’t edit it. 🙁

I’ve moved compoundplug.dll out of the compoundplug folder but it still doesn’t work…in fact it takes much longer and asks me to verify each of several hundred clips. So I left it in there. I’ve tried it with GPU rendering off and on. I’ve tried increasing Dynamic RAM. I’ve tried that CTRL-W solution or whatever it is. I’ve tried re-encoding them. I’ve tried killing off the .sfk files. I’ve tried renaming the master project file. I’ve tried moving the bad files to a separate location.

Maybe i need to re-encode every single file .mts and use the new files instead?

I have this issue where I had a power surge and it rendered some of my files bad. I went through a drive recovery company and they restored nearly everything, but every time I try to open a .veg project file containing all my AVCHD files, once it encounters a bad .mts file it barfs, freezes and crashes. Tried killing off the .sfk files, tried renaming the file, tried opening the veg.bak file, etc.. I tell it to disregard the bad files (upon loading) and no such luck – Vegas (Pro 13) still crashes. Any suggestions?
