March 3, 2012 at 1:07 am in reply to: Professional Video Retouching (hair, skin, etc)probably too late now, but Red Giant Cosmo is pretty nice.
it isolates skin tones too.
default settings are pretty good, of course it’s pretty noticable.
so tweaking will make it less noticable.Brandon Morris

I only used the video copilot as an example of the look.
I wasn’t sure if it was possible to do with 4 layers of the same footage with different textures for each layer.Brandon Morris

January 6, 2012 at 2:56 pm in reply to: startup disk fills up when rendereing – ae creating large log filesI am having the same issue, but my project folder is on a second drive. I went to check log files in the project folder and they were only 4KB. So I went to check the log files in the Console folder, and there isn’t a folder there.

January 4, 2012 at 11:45 pm in reply to: making an Adjustment layer not effect a layer??It would be nice to have an adjustment layer not affect a specific layer beneath, like some footage for a key.

I have the m-audio 1814 and a 2011 12-core mac. The m-audio box plays pandora excellent. But it does not work in FCP.

We tried all that, gonna try again tomorrow.
Does the HPX output uncompressed?
If it doesn’t, what’s the best codec to capture at for green screen footage?
The flew clips we got were captured at BlackMagic HD 1080p 10bit RGB 4:4:4, but when played back in FCP, it’s jittery.Brandon Morris

Just checked it, it’s already set to SDI Video and SDI Audio, the only other SDI options for input are SDI video and AES audio or Analog XLR Audio.
Input processing is off bc I’m not downscaling or upscaling.
In FCP, AV Settings, Capture Preset is at BlackMagic HDTV 1080p 23.98 10 bit RGB 4:4:4, Device Control Preset is at BM HDTV 1080p 23.98.
Is it not working bc the HPX outputs 1080i not 1080p?
What settings should the playback and capture presets be? Trying to get least compressed signal fr green screen shoot. The SDI 1080i output is enabled on the camera.
Do I need to be in a certain mode like playback to capture live footage to FCP?Brandon Morris
