[John Rofrano] ” I can hardly wait for the Mac version to be released. ;-)”

Yup just got off the phone with Blackmagic Support about transferring my licence and touched on the Mac version topic, Yes it’s in the pipeline but like all other projects they have, it is in backlog. Though the dev team states ” We have never seen such clean code ” suggesting it should be a simple affair to parse for the Mac. So yeah it’s coming to challenge the reign of Nuke on the Mac side.

yes indeed… very interesting times was just thinking about your project. Hit film may just take a hit in the gonads. BUt truly since I have both and Boris stuff installed, when it’s time do do real work I turn to fusion. AE is but a lonely stepchild here since they started with the subscription nonsense. Keep it around for long term clients who are adamant but I do not take on new ones who fell they know the best way. Strange how clients show up looking for help and then tell you how to do things. Isn’t that the definition of insanity? Doing the same thing over and expecting different results.

Believe me folks, that application is insane there are few in it’s class or have such a pedigree. Once you go node you never go back to layers. Yes it takes a while to unlearn the rules of layer based compositors but when it clicks you’ll say wow this is easy. Oh dear I just realised my copy of Fusion 7 has plummeted in value.

    Hello,
Have you tried Avidemux? Or what does Davinci Resolve have to say about it?
    https://avidemux.sourceforge.net/
Let me know if this resolves your problem or not. For I am keenly interested for but for the grace of God, there go I.

I Know, I’ve been watching. But I just can’t loose any more veterans, soo we must play nice. We are all very sensitive artists you know. Good luck and maybe some day soon you can get back to us on how things are turning out for you and stick around, all too soon it may be your turn to parcel out hard earned experience.

    Yup it’s gone
up and down arrows will zoom in & out of the timeline, page up and down will move the cursor left or right by 10 frames and blah blah blah. Read the manual under shortcuts. Looked to find a script that would cut a number of frames off the end but did not find one. Guess I might have to write one… maybe.
    Any more questions, just ask.

Have you tried zooming in on the section, a pain I know, scrolling to and fro but that’s what the keyboard shot cuts are for. I hope you are not developing bad habits and editing via mouse. If so please refrain and study the keyboard short cuts. First one to learn is jkl for back stop and forward. Also if the section(s) that need to be cut are the same length, use the loop region as a movable marker.

Procedure would be highlight the even to be cut, move the marker to where it snaps to between the media tap s and then hit delete. If snapping is turned on the the selection will be removed and filled with the next bit of media.
    Hope that makes sense.
