Adobe does have some great products though. You should already have they’re production studio anyways. So try out Premiere and see if you like it. You won’t hurt Apple’s feelings.

I also think that a system built around the AJA Kona LHi will be great for what you’re doing.

There are some main systems that you need to decide on:

– Software
– Computer
– Storage
– Capture card
– External monitor

It really just depends on what you need.

Walter, I never thought that I’d hear you speculate about a re-write of FCP:) I’m right with you though. I don’t think the current program is ready for the changes that will happen over the next 10 years. FCP really isn’t coming close to using the computers it has now, nor will a basic update change that.

What statement are your referring to?

It’s not necessarily a positive statement for Blu-ray hopefuls, but it’s they’re not saying it won’t happen sometime.

How young do you think I am:) I grew up listening to an 8 track of kenny rogers in my parents Chrysler La Baron. It was rocking!

My thought is that even though Apple is pushing the whole iTunes HD movie stuff, there is still a lot of money to be made by including Blu-ray in the next version of FCP. If they don’t, everyone’s going to complain and call them dumb.

Remember, it’s been almost three years since DVD Studio Pro has seen a upgrade, They’re going to come out with something, and it’s not going to be half baked.

Kona 3 – dual-link and 2k support

Kona LHi – LTC timecode in and out, HDMI in and Out, analog video/audio in and out

If you need 2k or 4:4:4, then the Kona 3 is the way to go. If not Kona LHi rocks.

In a way, but it doesn’t act as a video interface for a computer like the IOHD does. It is a very cool little box and will be all over, especially once more features are added in future updates.

Blu-ray is here to stay and is being adopted even faster than DVD was adopted. If Apple ever updates DVD Studio Pro, Blu-ray will be a part of it.
