    Hello Nick,
all the scenes had a different setups and very individual solutions.
The Sky was sometimes a 360 Panorama that was used with Paul Tuersley wonderful Script “Make Panorama”.
Sometimes it was a Multilayer of cloud-structures.
The Icicles where basically multiple Photos layered in Z-space.
Various blending modes and a lot of displacement where used on this one.
what exactly do you want to know?

    Hi Dan,
thank you very much for that expression!
    This is “almost” it.
Is it possible that both sides of the layer are visible?
So -fade out -pass the null point when the layer is pointing direct to the camera -fade up again (now showing the back of the layer) fade out again etc.
    Thank you very much!

    Thank you for your reply,
It looks almost as if there are some issues with memory -but….
I have a sequence of 40 seconds in ram-beautifully in quarter size with audio playing at 25 fps.
The full redered clip at this resolution is 160 mb.
So I have it in ram (Green Line) and save ram preview will not allow me to do this (see above)
I am very puzzeled because I never had that problem -although I trashed the prefs.

    Open GL is always off..
Ram preview will write for 5-6 seconds as normal (blazing fast out from ram)-but then will begin to render the already rendered sequence…
Ah – audio is also NOT rendered as it should be.
    thanks,

I have the same problem here on 4 Brand new Quads and Macpro. All of these are equipped with 30″ screens. Sometimes it gets even worse -there will be some graphics “glitches” and green/blue pixel “Snow” all over the screen. To get rid of it I have to switch the screen off/on. I think that the new series of cinema Displays (the brighter ones) have a hardware construction problem. These behaviors are not visible on the older 30″ screens.

You can create very realistic water with an combination of particles, vector blur and distortion effects.
I can send you some examples if you wish.
