I am capturing 1080i 29.97 8 bit…The raid is a rorke galaxyhdx 16f2 6tb raid connected by fibre channel, How do I check throughput?

This is probably a stupid question but how do I edit a filter I put into a nest. I can drag a filter onto the nest in the timeline but when I click on the nest to work with the filter it brings the nest as a sequence.

I’m just wondering if there is a way to keep the whites broadcast legal…it burns out the footage way over 100 and the brightness controler in the effect doesn’t seem to do anything.

Sorry if I was unclear it is white text against black background and I am using 64 font (pretty large) text so I don’t think making it bold will make a difference.

I am working in 8-bit uncompressed…how do I adjust the whites? I have rendered everything and am looking at an ntsc monitor.

Thanks, that stopped the jerk but I am still having shakiness or flicker on my white titles over black, I applied the flicker filter to the text which seemed to help somewhat but not solve the problem 100%.

I am looking for a tranisition similar to the spin 3d transition that comes with FCP but that spins the second cut as well as the first cut to create a full 360 degree spin. Also I did google for free FCP plugins and did not find many.

I tried the luma key and it worked pretty well after fooling around with the tolerance and the threshold, but there are still some jaggies.

On the beta the graphic came with a black and white matte. The graphic itself is yellow letters over a red background, then after it on the beta there is a black background with white matte cut out for the letters.

I originally had composited the matte over the letters to get the letters by themselve on black and then rendered out a quicktime of the motion graphics over black.

Is there a way to use the matte and the yellow letters over red background to composite over regular footage without all this rigging?

So just to clarify, I should keep the peaks to -12db no higher than -10db when mixing in fcp. Then use -20db tone to output to beta.

Does this mean dialogue and VO should be hitting -12db on the fcp mixer?

Should the peaks on the UVW-1800 be hitting around zero?
