I had the same problem a few weeks ago. I can’t remember exactly how I fixed it – but it was to do with the user settings – specifically the sequence view preset.
You know how you can save your sequence view by clicking on the on the little arrow to the bottom left of the timeline window? I think these saves views can get corrupted. Make a new one (timeline hamburger menu / default setup) – and I think the problem will be sorted.

New title tool in MC7 is called titler pro. Look in the effects bin. It’s amazing.

If you are running MC7, it comes with the amazing Titler Pro application. I was amazed at how easy it was to add multiple lines of text, and add transitions on to each one. This is what the Avid Title Tool should always have been.

It seems to be a little pot luck with AMA. I have about 30 hours of CANON XF MPEG-2 422 50Mbits and it seems to be pretty snappy. Opening and closing sequences can take a few seconds. My last similar project I transcoded the whole lot to DNxHD 120, and of course that was faster to work with but took up a LOT of space.
It might be worth considering linking AMA, then making selects, trashing the footage you know you won’t need, then transcoding those selects to DNxHD.
Of course, if you need any of the stuff you discarded, it is still there AMA linked.

No help I’m afraid, except to say that you are not alone. I’m having the exact same problem with 720 footage slipping when rendered of exported. I’m going to need to find an answer pretty quick – and I’ll keep this thread updated if I do.

According to cinema tools, this clip has a framerate of 29.96 – not the 29.97 recognised by FCP (and assumed for the render). I hve no idea where the 29.96 came from – something during the digitising I assume. We are going to re-dig and see if this happens again. -
That would give burnt in TC. I think we are after an embedded non-visual timecode.

I always suspected that MC was only using one core when rendering and exporting. I’d be really interested to know what codecs it does use both (all four?) cores for. I tend to always export QT Reference into Sorenson Squeeze, just because there are so many more settings and codecs, as well as the batch encoding option. I’d be interested to know if Squeeze used four cores – maybe I’ll follow your lead and run a test.

Any DVD authoring package that will take quicktime reference files (just about all of them) will work. Sorenson Squeeze is often bundled with Avid, and I’ve found it works well.

Surely you can plug as many decks as you have input on the Mojo, but only the input selected in Avid (in the Video Input Tool) will feed into the edit suite? Am I missing something here?
