  • I think Twixtor is one of the best plugins for faking high framerate.
Depending the source frame rate /desired output duration, results would vary.
Back in time, Retimer standalone application had a nice feature, where user was able to manually fix
messy retimed frames … lets hope reelsmart will add such feature in Twixtor.
Locam highspeed film cameras or Phantom video is the real deal.. but Twixtor is a great tool imo.

It’s good that you have a High Q. Master rendered file.
Now u can use any 3rd part converter-transcoder or adobe media encoder.
I like to use the TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works.
You can choose the desired output file size.
But since its a video file 40mb final size for 55min sounds way assuming!
Maybe you should try the Motion JpgB in QT menu/ under Low video quality..

I assume keying such footage wasn’t in your first plan.
Even the backdrop is pleated. Anyway..

You may also have to dublicate your layer per filter such as:
    extract
color key (the best part of it is that it’s not an inteligent one )
    color range

Try to pull a matte for the hair using the extract filter.
The same filter under different values will keep some of the green shirt also.

    color range for the shirt

for skin (hands) try to add numerous color key filter, but don’t push them too far. in many cases color key will produce a decent matte but you will have to improve it using a choker or something similar.

Later on merge/precompose your layers and apply a composite choker if needed.

in this case the key should be perfect.
Otherwise semi-transparent areas would reveal all the compression,
especially over a black background (in most cases)
So Tyler u r ok with keying i assume. Your question is all about compositing?
( placing the background layer below the keyed footage directly in ur editor )
If this is all about then Michael’s advice is the proper one.

    1. Find the hue and saturation filter
    2. select the green input
    3. shift it to the desired color.

U may have to control also some values for the :red / yellow/ cyan in order to achieve better results.

Ted’s recommendation about 5 units apart at least is true.
Add an empty adjustment layer above and below of every 3d layer.
This way even if there is a crossing in Z space,
all the in-between adjustment layers will fix the problem.
Plus are you sure about the alpha of every layer?
Your 3d layer comes as psd file?
If yes, how did you import them ?
as document size or layer size?

    cheers
