Bill you should try using audio units to get an absolute audio sync. To find these go to the pull down marker on the top right of your timeline and select audio units. Basically audio units lets you zoom into the audio tracks far more than frames (your timeline reader will be 00:00:00:00000 rather than 00:00:00:00)
Now just so you know, you will have to unlink you audio and video to move the audio clips but you will be moving the audio so slightly that the video will still be in sync.
Rather than going into soundbooth or audition (both are very excellent apps but not for this) right click on the audio track and go to your audio gain option, because tarck 2’s audio doesnt matter for the final piece normalise the track and this will boost so you can hear it. If you are on Cs3 you will see the wave form straight away.
I have done a lot of edits this way ( will nine track sometimes) and it has never failed to date.

Your right a lot of people post when the deadline looms but I think (for myself anyway) that you kinda want to figure it out yourself first so you spend the first part of the project trying out ways and then the deadline is right on top of you and niothing is working do you have to ask the experts that seem to be here on these forums.
I have to say I am surprised you replied so quickly. Normally I dont get replies until the next day.

I’ll give what you said a go. WOWfactorx I have a very close deadline for this project and as much as I relish the idea of looking through title upon title for the right one, I really should do some work on the projiect itself. I was only looking for a bit of advise but clearly you believe I should take the long way round. Cheers for that.

Hello all
Another way of doing this is using your Fill Left and Right audio effects in the effects panel. You get much the same results but you can copy the effect from the first clip and paste it onto the rest of your clips. If the Nat is on the left channel then use thew FIll Left Effect abnd then the Fill Right effect on Channel 2

I have also had this problem and my new machine. I work with PAL and on the Matrox RT. 2. The problem is Prem is opening the work area you have made as default. Theres no need to panic or start uninstalling your software. When you re-open the project simply go to the top of the project bin and click the folder up sign in the top left. Prem is getting confused but it is not getting rid of your other bins. All 5 bins might be on the same name but the other bins are there aswel. When your in the main project bin you and can double click into a certain folder, when you do this all your other folders disappear becasue your in the folder you double clicked.
Sorry for the waffle but the problem is quite simple click the folder up sign and you’ll see everything is still there.
The spelling might be a bit off but hopfully you understand it

Dont want to step on your toes here Jon but after reading Martin’s problem I remebered something else that will ease his pain. I always find that if you put your main camera (nearly always wide and with the audio feed from the desk) on track one and turn off the “follow audio” check box then when you have finished the edit your audio is far easier to edit because it still all the same track.
Anyway hop the edit goes well.

Just read your posts there. I dont know if it will help at all but if you want to trim more than one video track all you have to do is select all the tracks you want to trim and put your move tool in between two of the tracks and start dragging. Every track that you have selected will move. If you want to trim the footage and leave no gaps then all you need to do is as above but hold down the Ctrl and all the footage will trim until you find your out point. I use a Wacom tab (and it works for a mouse aswel) and all I do to select mutliple tracks is draw around them all.
I use PPCS3 and can see many great changes in it. Anything I have problems with rahter than e-mailing them I ring them and so far they have always replied and fixed major problems I have with the app. FCP and Avid are great apps aswel and I think it case of what you have been brought up on and what you need the app for.
