    Yes it can be great..
Maybe BM can invest in it for the paid version…

August 6, 2011 at 4:09 am in reply to: Artist MC Color Shift Key

I have been playing with the MC color for about a week now. There are, without a doubt, some functionality design elements that can be addressed better. From the trackball sensitivity, to the shift key, in addition to some of the menu design and layout.

This controller has a lot of potential compared to the wave. Although, as an aside, I do like the 9 softkeys on the wave.

With respect to the MC color, I would like to see the previous/next frame command move to the shift option and have the next /previous clip as the main button.

Vladimir – I also had the same issue as you that it seems that sometime the shift key is “locked” on some functions and sometimes not, could not figure out yet why.

Do you guys also notice a difference on the sensitivity between the primary tab to the new 3-way color? It looks like the 3-way color wheel has less steps than the primary tab. And the placement of the cursors on the wheel is not necessarily an accurate representation of the color values. Using the mouse or using the controller you get different results (I will post some stills to make more sense of this one).

I will assume that with the euphonix protocol, it will be easy to program it any way you like it?

the trackball sensitivity is an issue with the MC color.
it is something that need to be addressed (by Resolve to my understanding). Maybe Peter can help out.
you can set the sensitivity in the resolve, (I have mine set to 90, other told me they set there to 30…)
I find that my Gain control is more sensitive than my Lift and Gamma, and the 3 way color is even more sensitive than the primary tab.

Quico, that is very interesting. Even in 90 it just feels not as smooth as it should be.

which version of EuControl/Firmware you are using?

reinstalled the drivers and it is working better.

I do need to push the sensitivity all the way to the 90 zone to get it moving. The Gamma RGB need to be on 98-99 to get a nice flow. while LIFT and Gain are on 93/90.

    Thank you,

I did try both in resolve and on eucontrol. With no luck. However, I did not see specific trackball controls. Am I missing something here?

    Hi Jörgen,

Can you give more information about the Avid Artist panel and the use with the Resolve. I can’t find any real documentation or videos regarding the work-flow.
How easy is the use of it with the Resolve? Do you have access to all the menus ? can you customize buttons? can you compare it to the wave panel?
maybe you can upload some images .. 🙂
    Thank you in advance

  • Transcode your footage to one of the DNxHD resolution.
we had the same issue with DVCpro media (1280×720), But your clips are full HD,so I am not sure if you got the same problem.
